Meet the Founder - Amy Winsor

Ray of Hope Portraits began as a passion project for Amy—a way to blend three of her greatest loves: portrait photography, children, and honoring the life of her dear friend, Sara Swenson. What started as a small side endeavor quickly became something much bigger. Though Amy originally imagined keeping it small, she soon realized that God had other plans.

The vision resonated deeply with her community, and Ray of Hope Portraits began to grow in ways she never expected. Today, ROHP is more than a project—it’s a movement fueled by compassion. It’s the result of an extraordinary group of people coming together to love, support, and serve families walking through some of life’s most difficult moments. Through their time, resources, and heartfelt generosity, they help make each portrait session a beacon of hope.

Together, we’re not just capturing memories—we’re creating moments of healing, love, community, and lasting hope.

What does Ray of Hope Portraits do?

We desire to create an opportunity for a critically ill child and their family to have something to look forward to as well as an incredible experience during the session. The cherry on top is the gallery of images and photobook that will follow—memories and pictures to last a lifetime.

This gift will be presented in the form of an extravagant photoshoot, designed specifically for the selected child. We will work closely with the family to know everything we can that will make this day extra special. That might include a crowd clapping them into the studio. Spiderman might make an appearance. Maybe a snow machine will add some magic. The sky is the limit, and we are so ready to roll out the red (or pink) carpet!

Where are we located?

We are located in the Pacific Northwest. We have dreams of creating a system for bringing in Out-of-State families and creating a weekend experience for them. We will promote this as soon as it’s up and running!
